Henry House Hill looking North-West. The Henry House is the white building near the center. |
Looking South-West |
It took me most of the day to get this table setup. I use almost 25 feet of rail fence and I had just enough trees to cover the table. Overall I’m pretty happy with how the table looks. I can’t wait to fight the battle this weekend. More information on this game can be found here: http://saltcitywargamers.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/gaming-event-bull-run-1861/
Keywords: Battle of 1st Bull Run, Battle of 1st Manassas, American Civil War 10mm, ACW 10mm
That table looks great, looking forward to meeting you on sunday.
ReplyDeleteI love your terrain! A few questions, if I may ask: What do you have underneath the mat to create the hill effects? Where did you get your terrain mat and what size is it? Did you use clay to make the tree bases?
ReplyDelete“What do you have underneath the mat to create the hill effects?” I use the cheapest towels from Wal-Mart. “Where did you get your terrain mat and what size is it?” I got my mat from the Terrain Guy. The size is 9’ X 6’. “Did you use clay to make the tree bases?” No I did not use clay. I used 1 ½” Fender washers that got from Lowell’s or Home depot. All I did was glue the tree base to the washer and then I added green flock. The trees are from Woodland Scenics.
ReplyDeleteThank you General! I am very impressed by your battlefields and appreciate all the information you have provided about making them. I am new to the hobby and have found your blog a fantastic resource.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, welcome to the hobby.
